Summit County man arrested after barricading himself and others and firing a gun

COVENTRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) – Summit County officials said they responded to calls Tuesday to the 2900 block of Prior Road regarding an argument between a man and a woman.

According to officials, the man began making threats and fired shots inside the house.

Officers identified the suspect as 23-year-old Steven Haines.

Officers managed to negotiate with Haines and convince him to leave the house without further incident.

According to officials, a woman and children were evacuated from the house.

Haines was charged with discharging a firearm on or near a prohibited premises and causing a panic and was taken to the Summit County Jail.
