Two Pittsfield shootings under investigation | Crime

PITTSFIELD – Police have been investigating two shootings in the city since Saturday.

At 10:08 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the area of ​​the New Amsterdam Apartments at 140 Bradford Street after a ShotSpotter was activated, which allows police to receive real-time digital alerts of gunfire with the address, latitude and longitude, and the number of shots fired.

Police found five .380-caliber cartridge cases outside, said Sergeant Ryan Williams. He said no one was injured and there was no damage to property.

The second incident occurred early Wednesday morning in the area of ​​495 Tyler St., where police found a single bullet casing around 2:45 a.m., according to Williams.

No one was injured in this incident and police found no damage to property, he said.

Williams said the incidents were under investigation, but no suspects had been arrested.
