One person in hospital after accident in Pflugerville

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — One person was hospitalized following an accident in Pflugerville early Wednesday morning.

The Pflugerville Fire Department responded to a vehicle rescue call in the 3700 block of East Pecan Street, just east of State Highway 130. When crews arrived, they found one person trapped in a heavily damaged car that had left the road.

Firefighters managed to free the trapped person and take him to a local hospital. The extent of his injuries was not immediately disclosed.

A second person involved in the accident was examined at the scene but refused transport by ambulance, according to the Pflugerville Fire Department.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated. Photos from the scene show that the vehicle suffered significant damage to the front. The windshield is shattered and the airbags have been deployed.
