Kerry Washington stars in Tyler Perry's women's Army Corps drama about World War II

Tyler Perry could be known for the 'Madeleine' film series and similarly clownish comedies, but recently the filmmaker has tended towards more serious works and dramas. After “The blues of a jazz musician”, directed by Perry three Films that will be released before the end of 2024: the legal thriller “Mea Culpathe drama thriller “Divorce in Black“And now the drama of the Second World War”The Six Triple Eight.”

Based on a 2019 WWII History magazine article by Kevin M. Hymel, “The Six Triple Eight” highlights the contributions of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, an all-black and all-female battalion, during World War II.

The film, written and directed by Tyler Perry, stars Kerry Washington as Major Charity Adams, the commanding officer of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. The drama features an ensemble cast that includes Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, Sarah Jeffery, Pepi Sonuga, Moriah Brown, Jeanté Godlock, Susan Sarandon, Dean Norris, Sam Waterstone, And Oprah Winfrey.

production Tyler Perry, Nicole Avant, Angi Bones, Tony L. Strickland, Keri Selig, And Carlota Espinosathe film shows an original sSong “The Journey,” written by Diane Warren and performed by HER, with choreography by Debbie Allen.
