Cape Charles woman dies in morning accident

Virginia State Police have identified the long-time occupant of a vehicle that crashed into the woods on Route 13 in Cheriton this morning.

According to State Police Sergeant Michelle Anaya, the crash occurred around 9:03 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Route 13, north of Cobb Station Road in Cheriton.

The driver of a 2017 Ford Fiesta, 85-year-old Nadine Marie Good, lost control of her vehicle, left the road, struck a culvert and then a tree. The vehicle overturned and Good was thrown from the passenger side of the vehicle. Good died of her injuries at the scene. There is no evidence that speed or alcohol contributed to the accident.

Next of kin were sought for 85-year-old Nadine Marie Good of Mill Street, Cape Charles, Virginia.
