Tamra Judge responds to RHOC trolls calling for her firing

Tamra Richter is tiny, christened and has been the subject of much criticism lately. Her antics on season 18 of the Real Housewives of Orange County were widely panned as malicious.

Many RHOC fans are disappointed and upset with Tamra's “tough love” in dealing with her former friend Shannon Beador's drinking problems.

Some viewers even called for Tamra's firing (again). She herself recently commented on the scandal and, as always, seems to find nothing wrong with her behavior.

Tamra Judge: not a “villain”, just a “truth teller”

Tamra addressed the controversy yesterday on Two Ts in a Pod, admitting that she had already been fired once before returning to RHOC after a two-season hiatus.

“I [got] fired. And people wanted me fired. And then everyone was outraged. “Bring her back.” And then they brought me back. And then they said, “Oh my God, she's so mean. Fire her!””

Shannon is trying to put her life back together after her disappointingly reckless drunk driving accident. Meanwhile, Tamra repeatedly accuses Shannon of drinking alcohol. However, Tamra says she is not a “bad guy.” She is telling the truth. The truth probably hurts.

Tamra, however, took some responsibility for her performance. “I'll tell you the truth. Maybe my performance isn't as sweet as a bed of roses. But that's just who I am. That's just who I am.”

Besides, she didn't seem to have expected this kind of reaction to her “truth statement”. She just wanted to be a good friend, right?!

“I went into the whole season thinking about being a good friend. I don't force anything on anyone. And look what happened.”

That's why, Tamra says, people have been kind enough to reach out to her. “They said, 'You know, I understand your frustration. And it's very hard for someone who hasn't been through it to understand.'”

Tamra says she has “sympathy” for Shannon, but “not really pity.” She says that's because Shannon has been “doing the same thing over and over again for 10 years.” Which is fair.

Besides, the Amigas aren't Amiga-like anymore. It might be time for Tamra to throw in the towel as a “good friend.”

“The Real Housewives of Orange County” continues Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
