MIAMI – Miami police announced Wednesday the arrest of a man accused of touching himself while peeking into a home where a young girl was changing clothes and two other children were present.

Alexander Perez Piloto, 38, of Hialeah was taken into custody after authorities issued a safety alert about the disturbing incident captured on surveillance video in Little Havana last week.

According to investigators, the video shows Perez Piloto peeking through the window of a home near the corner of Southwest 10th Street and Seventh Avenue at about 6:45 a.m. on August 21.

According to police, he was observed behaving indecently while standing in front of a four-family house where a six-year-old girl and two other children – eight- and ten-year-old boys and a 30-year-old woman – were present.

The girl's father, Jose Larrynaga, who was not home at the time, said he learned of the incident when a friend called him and warned that someone might try to steal his tools. Larrynaga checked his security cameras and saw the disturbing scene on his phone.

“I was outraged. I couldn't even work properly that day because I was so angry,” Larrynaga told Local 10 News on Monday. “Our daughter is terrified. She won't sleep alone.”

On Monday, police returned to the Larrynaga home to speak with the victims. Although nothing was stolen, the family's sense of security was shaken.

“It’s dangerous to let someone like that run around freely,” said the girl’s mother, Ingris Hernandez.

Jail records show that Perez Piloto is charged with four counts of voyeurism and one count of burglary of an inhabited structure.

Miami Police said: “After the video circulated in the media, the suspect turned himself in to Hialeah Police on August 26 after being confronted by a family member.”

He also made a confession that was deleted from the published report after his arrest.

The Cuban national has been held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center since Wednesday, where he is under arrest warrant. His bail has not yet been decided.
