Woman over 80 killed in drive-by shooting in Burien

A woman in her 80s was killed in a drive-by shooting in Burien overnight, officials said.

According to the King County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a report of a shooting near 10th Avenue South and South 130th Place before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators said neighbors reported hearing several gunshots.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found that several bullets had hit a house.

The sheriff's office said officers found a woman in her 80s with a gunshot wound inside the home.

Deputies and paramedics performed life-saving measures, but the woman died at the scene of the accident.

Detectives from the King County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit were on scene and investigating.

The shooting remains under investigation.
