When Taylor Swift returned to London with her Eras Tour for five more sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium, she took the time to meet two young girls who survived a horrific knife attack.

In the attack on July 29 during a dance class for children with the motto “Swift” in Southport, England, three girls between the ages of six and nine were killed. Eight other children and two adults were injured.

Swift met two survivors, Hope and Autumn, backstage at Wembley, which her mother, Sami Foster, captured in a TikTok video.

“You painted stars around my scars,” Foster wrote in the caption on Monday, which references the lyrics of Swift's “Cardigan.” “The biggest thank you goes out to @Taylor Swift and her mom for giving us all the most magical night possible… thank you for bringing pure happiness to Hope & Autumn last night and forever.”

The post has since gone viral, garnering more than 75,000 likes and heartwarming comments from regional fans. One user who identified herself as “another Southport mum” said she was “so happy the girls are recovering well”, which was echoed by countless others.

“This is so beautiful,” another user commented on Monday. “I hope when the girls are older this is the memory that still shines through. I don't know if this was night 4 but that would explain why Taylor was so teary eyed. Must have been emotional.”

Swift had already given several concerts for British audiences in June, but returned to London for another concert two weeks after the attack in Southport, in which 6-year-old Bebe King, 7-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe and 9-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar were killed.

King Charles visited the city on Tuesday to meet with survivors of the attack and first responders.

Merseyside Police arrested a 17-year-old male suspect on August 1 and charged him with three counts of murder, ten counts of attempted murder and possession of a knife article.

A day after the attack, Swift spoke publicly about the tragedy in an Instagram story.

“The horror of yesterday's attack in Southport is still running through my mind and I am just completely shocked…” she wrote at the time, adding: “These were just young children at a dance class. I don't know how I can ever express my condolences to these families.”

“I think this is so amazing! As a mom of two Southport Swifties, I'm so sorry your girls were affected but I'm so happy they got to meet her,” one fan commented on TikTok, with another adding, “Well done Taylor for making these little girls' dreams come true.”
