Charges filed against suspect in rural valley stabbing

Charges have been filed in Armstrong District Court against a man accused of stabbing his ex-wife's boyfriend to death earlier this month.

Andrew Milton Berry, 48, of Rural Valley, is charged with attempted murder, burglary, two counts of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment in connection with an incident at 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 20. State police say he went to the home of the victim, later identified as Colton Henderson, forced his way in and stabbed Henderson in the chest. Berry's ex-wife was reportedly with the victim at the time.

Armstrong County District Judge Kevin McCausland ruled that the case will now be moved to district court. Berry remains in the Armstrong County Jail despite being held on $250,000 bail. It is not yet known when the trial will take place.
