ITV Emmerdale actress admits she 'freaked out' over major health scares | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Emmerdale's Natalie J. Robb has revealed she previously battled a health scare that left her “going into overdrive”. The confession comes as the actress' character Moira Dingle suffers from epileptic fits in the ITV soap.

In alarming Emmerdale scenes shared on Tuesday (August 27), Moira collapsed in a barn while tending to a new bull brought in by Nate Robinson (played by Jurell Carter). The farmer began convulsing on the ground seconds before the credits rolled, leaving fans shocked.

ITV viewers have since been speculating about what caused Moira's seizures after she displayed her erratic behaviour at the start of the episode, with some suggesting she may be suffering from epilepsy, reports the Manchester Evening News.

As Moira's sudden breakdown has begun, her actress Natalie, 49, has been reflecting on her own health situation. Speaking to The Mirror, the veteran soap actress admitted it was once “quite scary” when she discovered a lump in her right breast.

“I went to the doctor who told me they were more concerned about a lump in my left breast,” she began. “I asked what they meant because I couldn't feel anything. It was higher up. I got really nervous and had to go for a mammogram.”

She explained that it was “harmless” but changed her perspective.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Natalie spoke about how she feels about her character Moira – who she has played for 15 years – being plagued by a serious illness.

The Scottish actress explained that she believes it is important for soaps to report on illnesses so that viewers who also suffer from them know that they are not alone.

“I know I would be scared to death if I had seizures and had no idea why,” she confessed.

“It is a challenging job and a great responsibility. I have learned a lot about the different possible seizures and worked closely with an expert.”

The former EastEnders student claimed her doctor gave her wise advice and admitted it was important to her to perfectly portray an epileptic seizure.

“My heart goes out to the people who have gone through this or are going through this,” she added.

The cause of Moira’s seizures is not yet clear, but Doctors The actress has promised that the results will change her character's life.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
