Suspects evade police after stolen SUV collides with Norwood fire truck

NORWOOD, Ohio (WXIX) – Two suspects were able to evade police after a stolen vehicle collided with a fire truck in Norwood early Wednesday.

An Audi SUV recently stolen in Fairfield was fleeing police in the area of ​​Indiana Mound and Montgomery Road when the Audi collided with a fire department pickup truck around 3 a.m., according to Norwood Police Sergeant Ken Devers.

No injuries were reported, he said.

The firefighter in the truck was assisting a crew that was already on scene when a fire was reported at the Zion United Church of Christ on Indian Mound Road, he said.

Meanwhile, the two suspects in the stolen SUV jumped out and ran through backyards to the Buxton Avenue area.
