Drone attacks another Russian oil reservoir

Reuters reports that a drone has discovered an oil reservoir in Kotelnich in Russia's Kirov Oblast, more than 1,500 km (932 miles) from the Ukrainian border.

Regional Governor Alexander Sokolov said there were no casualties or fires in the attack.

While it is currently unclear whether the drone was Ukrainian, the attack on Kotelnich came after Ukrainian-launched drones set fire to several oil tanks. A Ukrainian Drone attack caused a fire in an oil depot in the Kamensky district of the southern Russian Rostov regionthe governor said on Wednesday, confirming media reports that several tanks were on fire.

“There are no injuries,” said Governor Vasily Golubev via the messenger service Telegram. “The fire brigade is extinguishing the fire.”

Russian air defense units destroyed four drones over the region overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry said, but did not mention an attack on the depot.

Reuters reported that the Telegram channel Baza, which is close to Russian intelligence, had previously reported that three tanks at the Kamensky oil depot were on fire after two drones fell into the area.

Videos posted on Russian social media apparently showed large tanks ablaze at night. Reuters was able to attribute one of the videos to the Kamensky district of Rostov. There was initially no comment from Ukraine.
