Man arrested in fatal shooting on Baton Rouge freeway | Crime/Police

A man was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on Interstate 110, Baton Rouge police said in a press release Tuesday.

Tyquincy James, 24, is accused of shooting 22-year-old Antoine Bowie and wounding another person. James was arrested Tuesday and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail. He is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, inciting juvenile delinquency and possession of machine guns.

According to police, Bowie was driving north on I-110 near the Government Street exit around midnight on August 18 when shots were fired from another vehicle, hitting him and a passenger in his car.

Bowie died at the scene of the accident. Police said the passenger, whose identity has not yet been established, was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
