Forrest City doctor arrested on rape and sexual assault charges | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Arkansas State Police arrested a Forrest City doctor on Monday on multiple counts of sexual assault and rape following reports of misconduct at his clinic, according to a state police news release.

Special agents arrested Dr. Sudesh Banaji, 60, about a year after the 1st Judicial District Attorney's Office asked state police to investigate allegations that Banaji had inappropriate sexual contact with female patients at his Forrest City clinic, the news release said.

Banaji is accused of six counts of sexual assault and rape, the release said. He was booked into the Cross County Jail on $35,000 bail at about 2 p.m. Monday and released on bail at about 3:30 p.m., according to the jail's inmate roster.
