US mother handcuffed her 6-year-old son and had him attacked by a pit bull as punishment

A mother in Savannah, Ohio, tied her 6-year-old son up by his hands and feet and allowed a pit bull to attack him as a form of “corporal punishmentso the Ashland County Sheriff's OfficeThe boy suffered bites on his neck and ear and was immediately flown to hospital by helicopter for treatment.
Authorities said the child’s mother, Angelina Williams from Cleveland, Ohio, was staying with a relative, Robert Michalskithe homeowner and owner of the pit bull. Angelina's boyfriend, Taylor Desiree Marvin-Brown, who was in the home and helped restrain the child, was taken into custody along with Williams and Michalski.
The Ashland County Sheriff's Office said it received a 911 call requesting medical attention from a Savannah residence on August 17. The caller reported that a small child had been attacked by a pit bull.
A statement from the sheriff's office reads: “On Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 5:06 p.m., the Ashland County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call requesting a squad to be dispatched to 23 Chapel Street in Savannah, Ohio. Dispatchers were advised that a pit bull had bitten a 6-year-old child in the neck and ear. When squad members and officers arrived, the child was in serious condition and rescue helicopters were called. Officers identified the mother as Angelina Williams of Cleveland, Ohio, who lived with a family member of Robert Michalski, the owner of the home and dog. Robert had left the home with the pit bull before officers arrived.”
“On Monday, during an investigation, detectives and officers learned that the 6-year-old child was handcuffed on his hands and feet when the pit bull attacked him. A search warrant was executed on the home, where officers recovered evidence that supported the investigation. They also found Robert and the pit bull hiding on the upper floor of the home. The pit bull was taken into custody to house him as a vicious dog. Angelina Williams and Robert Michalski were taken into custody and taken to jail,” the statement continued.
The boy's mother, Williams, her boyfriend Marvin-Brown and the owner of the dog Michalski were charged with Crime of endangering a child by administering “corporal punishment,” as shown in online prisoner lists.
The pit bull was seized and taken into custody where he is being housed as a vicious dog.
Williams and Marvin-Brown are additionally charged with obstruction of justice and passing on false information, while Michalski, who also owns the house, is accused of tampering with evidence.
They are currently being held in the Ashland County Jail with cash or surety bonds ranging from $150,000 to $300,000, according to their inmate rosters, PEOPLE reported.
