Austin police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in connection with an attempted sexual assault that occurred last month on the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail.

On July 21 at approximately 5 p.m., a man approached a person walking on the walking trail near the 1700 block of South Lakeshore Boulevard. After asking for the time in Spanish, the suspect allegedly grabbed the victim, threw her to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 6' tall, with a large build, dark skin, and large hands. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a backwards navy blue cap, a navy blue shirt, and gym shorts.
