Sparks Police report new details on marina death | Local News

Sparks Police have released new information regarding the body found at Sparks Marina on Friday, August 23.

Sparks Police responded to a 911 call on the north side of Sparks Marina at 8:40 a.m. on August 23 for an unresponsive adult male in the water. Officers and medical personnel found the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation was launched and revealed that the man was seen by witnesses swimming alone near the peninsula in Sparks Marina earlier this week on Tuesday, August 20, in the early afternoon.

A crime doesn't seem to play a role.

The investigation is currently ongoing. Sparks Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information regarding this incident to contact Sparks Police Detectives at (775) 353-2225 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.

Sparks Police have confirmed that a man's body was found at the Sparks Marina this morning.

The body was recovered by the Sparks Fire Department.

The man has not yet been identified.

The criminal police are currently investigating and the incident is classified as suspicious.
