Shoplifting leads to a chase with wanted suspects throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts

PUTNAM, CT (WFSB) – A shoplifting attempt led to a police chase on I-395 North Sunday afternoon involving suspects with outstanding arrest warrants.

At 4:14 p.m., Putnam Police were called to a local store after a shoplifting incident was reported.

During their investigation, officers identified the suspect as 35-year-old Kayla Link, also known as Kayla Gould.

It was confirmed that Link had multiple warrants for his arrest in both Connecticut and Massachusetts for serious crimes.

Officers observed Link driving on Providence Street at the intersection with Powhattan Street.

When a Putnam officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Link fled, rammed the patrol car, and then continued his escape.

The pursuit continued north on I-395, and assistance was requested from the State Police, Massachusetts State Police, and other nearby law enforcement agencies. The pursuit was ultimately called off for safety reasons.

State police in Connecticut and Massachusetts are currently conducting an intensive search for Link's vehicle, a gray Hyundai Sonata with an unknown Connecticut license plate.

In addition, officers identified the male passenger as 31-year-old Eric Pariseau, who also had numerous arrest warrants in both states.

There were no injuries among the Putnam police officers and the patrol car sustained only minor damage that did not result in disability.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Link or Pariseau is asked to contact Putnam Police at 860-928-6565.
