Three people injured after accident; another driver rams MFD vehicle driving around the accident scene

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Three people are recovering from injuries following a crash Sunday afternoon, Madison police reported Tuesday.

According to MPD, officers responded to Verona Road and Highway 12 around 2 p.m.

As MPD and Madison Fire Department responded to the scene, a driver attempted to avoid the traffic jam and collided with a Madison Fire Department vehicle, according to MPD.

Officials said the 64-year-old driver was traveling eastbound on Highway 12. He was stopped and charged with hit-and-run, MPD reported.
