Superstar Kim Soo-hyun will once again deliver a gem with the new Disney+ K-Drama tee off. The South Korean powerhouse, who recently made headlines with his raw portrayal of a husband struggling to keep his marriage alive in the 2023 Netflix hit Queen of Tearsis back to spread his magic, and how.

Under the direction of Stranger 2 The crime drama, directed by Park Hyun-suk, is set in the wake of the Asian financial crisis and deals with the shady world of product counterfeiting.

Discount is already making headlines as one of the most highly anticipated K-dramas to be released in 2025. The Disney+ series, starring Kim Soo-hyun, was written by screenwriter Han Jung-hoon, who wrote the hit 2023 Korean series Song of the Bandits.

What is the show about?

The OTT considers the city to be “dramatic, dangerous and full of crime”. Discount portrays the dark world of counterfeit goods and follows an ordinary man named Kim Sung-jun whose life is ruined during the Asian financial crisis of 1997. In his desperate attempt to rebuild what he once had, Sung-jun gets drawn into the trade of counterfeit goods and quickly rises to the top of the counterfeit market.

Who plays the main role in Discount?

The main role in the crime drama is played by Kim Soo-hyun, known for hits such as Queen of Tears (2023) and It's okay not to be okay (2020).

Other notable cast members include Jo Bo-ah, Yoo Jae-myung, Kwon Na-ra, Kim Mu-yeol and Jo Woo-jin.

When is the release date of the K-drama?

Although Disney+ has not yet announced the exact release date of the K-drama, Discount is in production and is scheduled to hit your screens in 2025.
