5 adults attack students at a Dublin high school in the locker room

DUBLIN, CA — Five adults followed a Dublin High School student into the school's locker room and assaulted him, according to Principal Maureen Byrne and Dublin Police Services. Football coach Napoleon Kaufman and football players helped break up the situation, according to Byrne.

School administrators, police and medical personnel were called to the scene. Much of the incident was captured on video, and school resource officers are interviewing witnesses and searching for video evidence, DPS Capt. Miguel Campos told Patch. No arrests have been made as of Monday, Campos said. Anyone with information is asked to call Dublin Police Services at 925-833-6670.

The school is not releasing any further information as the incident is under active investigation.

“We are outraged that this happened on our campus. The school must be a place where everyone feels safe and supported. We are working with police to combat this to the fullest extent of the law,” Principal Byrne told school families in an email.

Byrne said there will continue to be adults present in the locker rooms and the hallways to the parking lot will remain closed until further notice.
