Former manager of Polar Air Cargo Worldwide sentenced to 18 months in prison

A former Polar Air Cargo Worldwide Inc. executive who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and services fraud was sentenced to 18 months in prison Tuesday.

Robert Schirmer, who served as senior director of customer services for the Americas, was indicted along with nine others in April 2023 and pleaded guilty the following October. He was sentenced by Judge Jesse M. Furman in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

His one-and-a-half-year prison sentence will be followed by three years' probation, during which he will have to complete 200 hours of community service.
