North Lamar Band hosts 2024 preview show “El Toreador”

The North Lamar High School Band, led by Austin Snow, Assistant Directors Elisha Tollefson and Ryan Sheffield, thrilled the community with an exclusive sneak peek of their 2024 show, “El Toreador.” The event, held on Friday, August 23, 2024, brought band supporters, community members and families together for an evening of music, food and fun.

The Credit Union of Texas generously provided free burgers and hot dogs so everyone was well fed during the festivities. Frozin Spoon was also on hand, offering refreshing sno cones to beat the summer heat.

The event began with the band demonstrating their performance routines, including stretching and warm-up exercises, and then two catchy songs from the upcoming show were played to attendees, giving them a taste of what to expect this marching season.

After the performance, each band member invited a volunteer onto the field to learn some marching band fundamentals. This interactive experience allowed family members and friends to step into the shoes of the students and develop a deeper appreciation for the dedication and effort required to perform at a high level.

As the band prepares for the upcoming season, the North Lamar community looks forward to their performances and is proud to support them every step of the way.
