Moorhead Police are asking for help in solving a robbery and assault

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) – Moorhead Police are asking for the public’s help in locating two people involved in an assault and robbery.

According to police, 31-year-old Francisco Vargas Jr. and 32-year-old Kaitlyn Michelle Kay Smith are both suspects in an aggravated robbery and assault that occurred on Monday, August 26.

Police said that around 6:15 a.m. Monday morning, police responded to a reported assault and robbery in the 3000 block of 33rd St. S. The caller told police that Smith had brought Vargas and another man to that location to assault and rob him. Police found the victim had facial injuries and broken ribs. The victim's backpack was also reported missing.
