Delaware State Police have arrested 39-year-old Michael Plummer of Greenwood, Delaware, for stealing copper wire from irrigation systems in Kent and Sussex counties.

Officials said that between April 12, 2024, and August 16, 2024, detectives from Troops 3 and 4 investigated several thefts of copper wires from irrigation systems in the Bridgeville, Greenwood, and Houston areas. In each incident, unknown suspects trespassed on private property, cut and removed copper wires from circle irrigation systems used in agriculture, and caused significant damage to the equipment. Through investigative efforts, detectives identified Dorothy Wooleyhand and Michael Plummer as the suspects and obtained arrest warrants for them.

On August 23, 2024, Plummer was arrested and transported to Troop 5 where he was charged with several offenses including theft over $1,500 from a victim over 62 (four counts), theft over $1,500 (four counts), criminal damage to property over $5,000 (eight counts), second-degree conspiracy (four counts), theft under $1,500, criminal damage to property under $1,000 (two counts), and third-degree trespassing (ten counts). He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace 2 and released on $21,610 unsecured bail.

Earlier this month, on August 20, 2024, Dorothy Wooleyhand was arrested and taken to Squad 4 where she was charged with several crimes. After arraignment by the Justice of the Peace of the 7th Judicial District, she was released on $22,000 unsecured bail.

Wooleyhand was charged with several counts, including four counts of theft over $1,500, where the victim is over 62 years old, which is a felony. Additionally, she was charged with four counts of theft over $1,500, which is also a felony, and eight counts of criminal damage over $5,000, which is also a felony. The charges also included four counts of second-degree conspiracy, which is a felony. She was also charged with one count of theft under $1,500, two counts of criminal damage under $1,000, and ten counts of third-degree trespassing.
