Chris Pine plays the lead role in the Italian drama “The Abduction of Arabella”

Washington [US]August 27 (ANI): Chris Pine, known for his roles in “Star Trek” and “Wonder Woman”, has been cast in the upcoming Italian drama “The Kidnapping of Arabella” directed by Carolina Cavalli.
According to Deadline, production on the film began this week in northern Italy.
In the film, Benedetta Porcaroli plays a young woman who, according to Deadline, feels like she is living a different version of her life until she meets a seven-year-old girl who fundamentally changes her perspective.
With this role, Porcaroli continues her collaboration with Cavalli, who directed her in her critically acclaimed debut “Amanda”.

In “Amanda,” Porcaroli portrayed an isolated woman trying to reconnect with a childhood friend. The film received high praise in the “Orizzonti Extra” program at the 2022 Venice Film Festival and was also shown at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Pine, who also appeared at the 2022 Venice Film Festival in Olivia Wilde's “Don't Worry Darling,” brings a significant presence to the project.
His most recent works include Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Poolman.
“The Kidnapping of Arabella” is produced by Elsinore Film and The Apartment, a Fremantle company, with Elsinore’s Antonio Celsi and The Apartment’s Annamaria Morelli serving as producers, according to Deadline.
The film is being shot in the picturesque regions of Veneto and Emilia Romagna. (ANI)
