'I can't remember anything…': RHOC star Vicki Gunvalson talks about her hospital stays while facing serious health issues

Vicki Gunvalson, star of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” opened up about how she faced a serious health threat and was diagnosed with a deadly infection. During her appearance on the episode of “My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast,” the reality TV star revealed that she started “talking gibberish” in the middle of a meeting and realized she may have suffered a stroke.

While Gunvalson was not feeling well, her partner Michael Smith was out of town. However, his daughter Olivia Smith took the television star to the hospital.

Speaking to the podcast host, Gunvalson revealed that when she was admitted to the hospital, doctors initially said it was just sinus infections and after giving her some medication, she was sent home. However, when Smith got home, he found the TV star almost unconscious in the bathtub. The CEO of Coto Insurance also joined Gunvalson's conversation on the podcast.

Smith said: “I grabbed her, pulled her out of the water and put her in bed. The doctor said she just needed to sleep, so I put her in bed and she literally slept for 13, 14 hours straight.” He added that when the TV star woke up, she felt “confused” and couldn't walk, so he took Gunvalson back to the hospital.

Speaking about the diagnosis, Smith said: “She had a massive infection. Actually, it was sepsis, but it was pneumonia.” He continued: “The way [the doctors] explained that when your body is fighting an infection that big… your whole body is attacking it, which affects the brain and everything else in your body because your body is sending everything it has to fight it.”

The television star claimed that after a stroke he “can’t remember anything and [Olivia] took me to the hospital.” She also had some kind words to say about Smith, revealing that he took care of her and “gave her my medication because I can't remember when I take it.”

Speaking about her recovery, Vicki Gunvalson said: “I'm getting enough sleep – probably too much, but I don't have the energy to run right now. But it's very similar; it's similar to a stroke and I just have three days of inactivity.” The reality TV star's fans and friends wished her a speedy recovery.
