One dead after motorcycle accident in San Angelo

A 20-year-old man in San Angelo died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred on Saturday around 11:30 p.m. on East Loop 306.

Matthew Hansen, 20, of San Angelo was riding a 2021 Kawasaki motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet.

“Preliminary crash investigation revealed (the motorcycle) was traveling at a high rate of speed,” DPS said. “Due to the high rate of speed, the driver lost control, left the roadway, entered the median and was ejected onto the pavement.”

Justice of the Peace Staceye Speck pronounced him dead.

The weather conditions were clear and the roads dry.

The accident was investigated by Alejandro Morante, a Texas Highway Patrol officer from San Angelo.
