Pilot of Knox County plane crash identified

KNOX COUNTY, Nebraska (KTIV) – The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) has released the name of the pilot who died in a plane crash near Crofton, Nebraska.

The pilot was identified as Joseph Rudloff, 73, of Norfolk. Rudloff was pronounced dead shortly after emergency responders arrived at the scene. He was the only occupant of the plane.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning, about four miles southwest of Crofton.

According to NSP, the second accident occurred a short time later near Wayne, Nebraska. The investigation was led by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. According to NSP, the Sheriff's Office will release more details about this accident as soon as possible.

The National Transportation Safety Board has been contacted and will investigate both accidents.
