Man arrested for murder in domestic violence stabbing investigation

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in Louisville last month.

On July 30, Louisville Metro Police officers were called to an apartment on Huntington Park Drive, at the corner of Poplar Level Road.

An arrest warrant states Marcelino Yande Fonseca Martinez, 35, of Louisville was taken into custody for stabbing Indira Almaguer Martinez after their verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation. She was reportedly taken to the University of Louisville Hospital and died during surgery.

Louisville Metro Police said Ring doorbell video showed the suspect leaving the scene with a blood-stained shirt and calling his brother to tell him he had stabbed her.

He was arrested at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections on charges of murder and domestic violence. Louisville Metro police said the two had an intimate relationship.
