Man dead, Omaha teenager injured in Monday night accident

OMAHA, Nebraska (WOWT) – A man died and an Omaha teenager was injured in a collision Monday night.

At around 8:50 p.m., officers were called to a crash at the intersection of Blair High Road and State Street involving a red Chevrolet Equinox and a white Honda CRV.

According to a report, the Equinox was traveling north on Blair High Road when it collided with the Honda CRV, which was traveling east on State St.

Authorities suspect that the Equinox ignored a traffic light, which led to the accident.

One of the drivers, Lowell F. Wiese of Randolph, Nebraska, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The other driver, a 17-year-old from Omaha, reportedly suffered minor injuries but is expected to survive.

The incident is under investigation.
