Pilot identified in fatal plane crash in Knox County

The Nebraska State Patrol can now release the identity of the pilot who died in the plane crash in Knox County on Monday.

The pilot was identified as Joseph Rudloff, 73, of Norfolk. The crash was reported around 9:30 a.m. Monday. The accident scene was about 4 miles southwest of Crofton, Nebraska.

A second plane crash occurred a short time later near Wayne, Nebraska. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is the lead investigative agency in this incident. Details will be released by the Sheriff's Office as soon as possible.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating both accidents. Police used drones to monitor both accident scenes to assist with the investigation.
