Tennessee High School Football Predictions in the Columbia Area for Week 2

After an exciting round of games in Week 1, the Tennessee high school football season is now in full swing. As we head into the second week of the season, we're bringing you previews of all the TSSAA football action in the Columbia area, along with predictions for every game.

Here is the full schedule of TSSAA football games in the Columbia area in Week 2.

Spring Hill (0-1) at Mt. Pleasant (1-0)

Time: 7pm. When: Friday

After losing to cross-town rival Summit in Week 1, Spring Hill heads south to face Mt. Pleasant in Week 2. Mt. Pleasant is fresh off a convincing 37-6 win over Wayne County. The Tigers are led by quarterback Jon Michael Wright, who transferred to them from Spring Hill before the season. Spring Hill's loss did have some bright spots, though. Patrick Bunch had four kickoff returns for 196 yards and a touchdown, something the Tigers will be looking to avoid this week.

Forecast: Mt Pleasant 24, Spring Hill 14

Dickson County (0-1) at Columbia Central (0-1)

Time: 7pm. When: Friday

Columbia suffered a loss to Marshall County in Week 1 and now returns to Lindsey Nelson Stadium to host Dickson County, which also lost to Creek Wood in its first game. While Columbia didn't start the season as well as it had hoped, the loss to Marshall Co. was close (25-22) and the Tigers are one of the best teams in Class 4A. Dickson County won't be an easy test, but Columbia will be desperate to get a win in Week 2.

Forecast: Columbia 28, Dickson County 14

Webb School-Bell Buckle (1-0) at Columbia Academy (1-0)

Time: 7pm When: Friday

After avenging their loss in last season's semifinals with a 42-20 win at MTCS in Week 1, the Bulldogs head home to host The Webb School – Bell Buckle. Webb won its first game of the season 56-6 against Cornersville after losing 10-0 last season. Bulldogs running back Montae Baldwin finished Week 1 with two touchdowns and 227 yards.

Loretto (1-0) at Lawrence County (0-1)

Time: 7pm. When: Friday

Loretto travels to Lawrence County in Week 2 looking to improve its record to 2-0. Loretto had a great opening game, winning 35-0 against Collinwood thanks to 316 yards and three touchdowns from quarterback Mason Tidwell, while offensive weapons Corben Reynolds and Nicholas McDow also impressed. Lawrence County didn't get off to an ideal start, losing 14-0 to Summertown in Week 1, and it will likely have another tough battle against a strong Mustangs team.

Forecast: Loretto 28, Lawrence County 7

Summit (1-0) at Centennial (0-1)

Time: 7pm. When: Friday

Fresh off a win over cross-town rival Spring Hill in Week 1, Summit travels to Centennial, which is reeling from a loss to Class 6A Franklin. Summit's running game was crucial against Spring Hill, with Dillon Pierce and Braylen Thompson each rushing for over 100 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Mason McElhaney added two more running touchdowns.

Forecast: Centenary 28, Summit 24

Independence (0-1) at Page (1-0)

Time: 7pm. When: Friday

After a tough Week 1 loss to Oakland, arguably the best team in Class 6A, Independence faces another challenge: Page, which has been the Class 5A state runner-up for three straight seasons. Page opened the season with a 28-0 win over Giles County and will be a strong contender to return to the championship game with a defense led by Wisconsin commit Brenden Anes.

Forecast: Page 28, Independence 10

Summertown (1-0) at Wayne County (0-1)

Time: 7pm. When: Friday

Summertown enters Week 2 of the TSSAA football season looking to surpass its win total from last year after opening their season with a 14-0 victory over Lawrence County. Summertown quarterback Jaden Stoll led the team in Week 1 with 133 total yards and two touchdowns, and he will take his chances to improve on those numbers against a Wayne County defense that allowed 37 points against Mt. Pleasant last week.

Forecast: Summertown 21, Wayne County 14

Richland near Cascade

Time: 7pm. When: Friday

Richland travels to Cascade looking to rebound from a double-digit loss to Lincoln County in Week 1. The Raiders are on a five-game losing streak dating back to last year, and that streak won't be easily broken in Week 2. Despite a loss to Moore County last week, Cascade is coming off a season that saw it make the state playoffs before losing to eventual runner-up East Robertson. Richland will need strong play from quarterback Blane Woodard to pull through.

Forecast: Cascade 17, Richland 10
