Anne Diamond hospitalized after ‘bad’ health crisis

Anne Diamond has revealed she was rushed to hospital after suffering serious health problems following breast cancer treatment. The 69-year-old TV legend was forced to take time off from her TV commitments after suffering dangerously high blood pressure which caused the paramedics treating her to “turn pale”.

This happened a year after she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a bilateral mastectomy.

Speaking on GB News today, Anne said: “Some of you have asked why I haven't been exercising. The main reason for that has been to do with my extremely high blood pressure. And although that wasn't the whole problem and I still haven't had a proper diagnosis of what was going on, it was a huge part of the problem.”

She added: “I didn't realise I had such incredibly high blood pressure. When the paramedics saw it they turned pale and said, 'Well, you need to go to hospital' and that was it. It just got me thinking because wherever you go these days, in the doctor's office or the pharmacy, there's always a notice about it. And no matter how young you think you are, you should check your blood pressure. It's very simple and all, but it's obviously a huge thing.”

She now believes that a campaign should be launched to get more people to check their blood pressure.

He told viewers: “I've had a bit of a crash course in the last month. But high blood pressure is a real problem and low blood pressure probably is too. But your blood pressure is hugely important. And the younger you are and you keep an eye on it, the less likely you are to have major problems later in life. Obviously it affects absolutely everything, so maybe we should all pay a bit more attention to our blood pressure.”

She went on to say that after a few weeks off she felt much better and that the doctors were able to lower her blood pressure.

She spoke about the difficult year after her cancer diagnosis, saying: “It was a battle against breast cancer. That's how it was. It was a long road. And five months later, I'm still not at the end of the road, but I've gotten through it and can go back to work.”
