Professional wrestler Sid Vicious, also known as Sid Eudy, dies at 63

Sid Eudy, also known as Sid Justice, Sid Vicious and Sycho Sid, has died at the age of 63. His son Gunnar Eudy confirmed his death in a Facebook post on August 26. Gunnar wrote, “I am deeply saddened to announce that my father, Sid Eudy, has passed away after a years-long battle with cancer. He was a strong, kind and loving man and he will be missed greatly.” Sid built his wrestling career beginning in 1987 as Lord Humungous before later joining World Championship Wrestling. It was during his time in World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) that he adopted his most famous stage name, Sid Vicious, inspired by the bassist of the Sex Pistols. His infamous feud with Hulk Hogan began when Sid joined the World Wrestling Federation (now known as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)).

As his wrestling career progressed, he became a huge star, although he played more of a supporting role in the ring due to his size – he was 6'1″ and weighed 300 pounds. Sid headlined Wrestlemania twice and made WWE's list of the top 30 big men in wrestling. In 2001, he suffered a leg injury in the ring that led to a long recovery; however, he eventually made it back to the ring and retired in 2017.
