54-year-old man charged with sexual abuse of a minor in Williamsburg County.

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office says a Williamsburg County man has been arrested on sexual assault charges.

54-year-old William Brian McCants is accused of two counts of sexual abuse of a minor.

McCants was arrested Monday night after a brief “stay” at a Georgetown motel, sheriff’s office spokesman Jason Lesley said.

According to authorities, both charges stem from the same victim.

McCants was taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center until Williamsburg County officials can take him into custody.
